I’m often asked what you need to pack for a ski holiday, or what you need for a ski holiday?

Below you can download our “Special Yeti Packing List” to use on any electronic device, or to print and tick. I’ve split this into several sections. The first section is about clothes. All you need to do is enter the number of days for your trip and the spreadsheet will calculate how much you need to pack! Of course, some people like more clothes on holiday and others less than we have suggested. In this case pack plenty of contraception. You can amend the spreadsheet as you like. Clothes needed are pretty similar to those worn any northern European capital in winter.

It is worth bearing in mind that they can often be snow and ice on the ground and shoes should have good grips, or you can buy relatively cheaply some spikes here to attach to a normal pair of shoes. If the snow is very heavy you may need boots. Don’t forget your swimming kit to enjoy our wonderful Jacuzzi.

In the toiletry section I have not attempted to outline what should go in in the wash bag. I would suggest toothpaste and toothbrush for everybody and then it is up to you as to how much shaving and other activities you wish to perform! Many of the items may not apply to you such as glasses or contact lenses, but I thought it was useful to have too much on the list rather than for someone to forget an essential such as contact lenses if you wear them.

We then have the essential ski clothing, we do have a washing machine within Chalet Yeti and good drying facilities. So maybe one of everything would be enough. If you are warm blooded you may not need thermals and long johns; this will also depend on the time of year you are visiting us. If you are skiing for the first time you may like to borrow clothing from friends or find it on eBay. It is important that any clothing is waterproof.

Some of you will have ski/snowboard equipment, and others will be hiring at Sport Boutique with our special 20% discount. Some of the equipment recommended is only for those who venture off piste.

Finally, I have included a checklist of things that are sometimes forgotten and forgetting them will cause headaches or worse!

I hope the list is useful and of course please adapt it to your own situation;

Most importantly enjoy your holiday.
